Planning Your Safari
Planning a safari should feel exciting, not overwhelming. We believe the best journeys begin with thoughtful conversations, honest guidance, and a clear understanding of what matters most to you. Below, we’ve answered some of the questions we’re most often asked, to help you feel informed, confident, and ready to begin.
How do I start planning a safari with Hylton Langley Safaris?
Start by contacting us through our website or email. We’ll schedule a free consultation to discuss your preferences, interests, travel dates, and budget. From there, we craft a fully customised safari itinerary tailored to your group.
What does the Commitment Fee cover?
The Commitment Fee covers the time we spend designing your bespoke safari. Once your booking is confirmed, this fee is credited toward the total cost of your trip.
Do you handle flights, transfers, and logistics?
Yes. We take care of domestic and regional flights, lodge transfers, private vehicles, and all on-the-ground logistics for a seamless safari experience. International flights are not included, but we can advise on the best options.
How much does a safari cost?
Pricing depends on destination, season, lodge choice, and safari style. We craft fully personalised safari journeys starting at $800 per adult per day. After your consultation, we provide a detailed quote covering lodges, meals, guides, park fees, and transfers. Children’s rates vary depending on age. Please reach out for a personalised estimate.
Which destinations do you specialise in?
We focus on Southern and Eastern Africa, including South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Mozambique, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, and Tanzania. Each destination offers its own unique wildlife, landscapes, and immersive experiences.
When is the best time to go on safari?
The dry season is best for spotting wildlife, while the wet season brings lush scenery and newborn animals. Seasonal recommendations vary by region, and we’ll advise on the ideal timing for your trip.
What wildlife can I expect to see?
You can expect the Big Five: lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo. Other animals include cheetahs, wild dogs, giraffes, hippos, and hundreds of bird species. In Rwanda and Uganda, you may also encounter mountain gorillas. Wildlife varies by region and season
Is safari safe for first-time and solo travellers?
Yes. Our professional guides follow strict safety protocols, ensure vehicles and equipment are secure, and provide expert guidance on all wildlife encounters. We plan every detail so first-time and solo travellers can enjoy the experience with confidence.
What is included in my safari?
Most journeys include accommodation, most meals, guiding, activities, park fees, and transfers. Exclusions are international flights, tips, and visas. We’ll outline everything clearly, so you know exactly what to expect.
