January tested us in every way. Unprecedented flooding in the Kruger Lowveld forced rapid changes to carefully planned safari logistics, from access routes to lodge stays. With calm, experience, and constant monitoring behind the scenes, we pivoted the itinerary, secured a new lodge, and adjusted travel plans seamlessly. While the landscape reshaped itself, our guests continued to enjoy an exceptional journey, proving that with the right team, even Africa’s wildest challenges can deliver a truly great safari.

2025 was a year of remarkable journeys and unforgettable moments. Across 34 safaris for 192 guests, we witnessed Africa’s wild places come alive in extraordinary ways. Guests experienced intimate wildlife encounters, tranquil mornings in the bush, and evenings under endless skies that reminded us of the magic of these landscapes. Each journey was carefully crafted to immerse guests in nature, creating memories that linger long after the safari ends.

Hylton and I recently hosted a luxury safari through Southern Africa. We began in the Cape Winelands with exceptional food and wine before heading to Botswana’s Okavango Delta, where high floodwaters meant boat-only access to our camp, and lions on the island with us. We had incredible sightings, from wild dogs on Hundu Island to elephants in narrow channels. In Linyanti, we saw leopards and lions at Duma Tau, and ended the journey in Zimbabwe with a powerful visit to Victoria Falls, both on foot and from the air. It was a journey rich in wildlife, luxury, and unforgettable moments.
